Every canine needs a home and a family. Just like humans, we don’t want to be living alone forever. Growing up with a family or even just a parent who will give us love, affection, and good memories are some of the things we need in order to have a meaningful life.
In a dog shelter named Save-a-Pet in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, lives a sweet old dog named Chip. This senior dog has been living in Save-a-Pet Shelter ever since he was just seven months old. And the poor dog is still waiting to be adopted.
Although Chip has been loved by the shelter staff all throughout the years, it breaks their hearts to know that no one seems to want to take him. After all, this senior dog deserves to experience a real home and a fur parent who he can give his love and loyalty to.
Chip is suffering from several conditions. He has skin and eye problems, and due to his old age, his health is slowly deteriorating. He already missed so many adventures he could have had with a family during his youthful days, now it’s uncertain how much time he has left.
One of the Save-a-Pet staff who cherished Chip thought of doing an extra step for him. She decided to take it to social media, hoping this would reach Chip’s future family.
Soon enough in 2015, a man named Jaco Rademeyer came in just for Chip. According to him, when he saw the staff’s post with Chips’ photo, he knew he had to help. The staff had another reason to post on Facebook, but this time, it’s about their gratitude and proudly announcing that Chip finally gets home after fifteen long years.
For Save-a-Pet, this is one of the miracles they have all been waiting for. Perhaps Chip just needed to find the rightful fur parent destined to give him the kind of love he needs at the moment. Now Chip proudly poses in his first photo with his fur dad before he goes to his first and forever home.
