Pittie Found Forever Home After 17 Months In Shelter

In March 2018, this pit bull named Fran arrived at the Delano Shelter. She was a sweet and cute pooch, as shared by most of the volunteers who took care of her. According to the volunteers, they did not have a clear record of the origin of Fran. They are sure, though, that the pooch was isolated in a kennel for almost five months before being released.

When the pooch arrived at the dog shelter, Fran looked sick and tired. This prompted the volunteers to focus on her healing before looking for potential adopters for the pooch. The volunteers knew they need to help the pooch recuperate from her state. The dog was nearly skin and bone because of the harsh treatment she received in the kennel.

After a few months into the treatment, the dog showed progress in her physical well-being. Fran grew her skin back and increased her weight. With her strength back, the dog blossomed into a sweet and adorable pooch.

The dog inspired the volunteers because, despite her ugly past, Fran’s personality is still brimming with confidence. The dog showed it by putting all her trust in the volunteers who take care of her. Since she is already well, the volunteers decided to look for adopters for Fran. It was not an easy task, though, because even after years, the dog was not able to find a forever home.

A year has passed, and Fran was still at the animal shelter. Good thing, there was this program known as the START Rescue. This program provides free transportation to dogs to visit a different animal shelter. The program helps dogs find a haven where the likelihood of getting adopted is high.

Then after 17 months, Fran now has a forever home she could spend her life. The unnamed family who adopted the pooch said they picked Fran because of the dog’s personality. They want to give the dog the home she deserves.
