Cooper, a five-year-old boxer dog, has already ruined eight sofas and six mobile phones. Despite that, his mom, Jill Kirkham from Chester, firmly said that she would never get rid of her beloved pet.
In a television interview, Jill described Cooper as both well-exercised and loved. She sought the help of Graeme Hall, an expert trainer, to figure out the reason behind Cooper’s bad behavior. Graeme initially speculated about the pup’s diet and lack of toys. However, he eventually concluded that Cooper only loves the attention he gets whenever he does something naughty.
According to Jill, they have already had eight couches because of Cooper’s destructive behavior. He first did it when he was around six months old. Jill came home with nothing but the framework left on her sofa.
For the last five years, Cooper has already destroyed eight sofas, two dining room tables, ten remote controls, six mobile phones, a set of oak tables, and wooden doors. Jill has two other boxer dogs named Ben and Holly, but they never caused any trouble. So, the fur mom has no idea how Cooper ended up that way.
Then, Jill admitted that Cooper seems like a bit of an attention seeker. However, with Copper’s little face, Jill said she would never consider rehoming him. She cannot imagine what could happen to him if she does.
After an initial inspection, Graeme assumed that, despite Cooper’s innocent look, he is intentionally being naughty because he sees that his mom is too relaxed. Although he is hilarious, Graeme told Jill to consider her response whenever her dog misbehaves. For example, Jill takes pictures when Cooper is being “cute.” Graeme explained that the pup might have picked it up as his mom liking his behavior, so he is giving her more.
According to Graeme, Jill might be showing too much affection to Cooper when he does something naughty. So, if Jill thinks that Cooper is attention-seeking, then she is probably right.
