One way to spruce up a wedding proposal is to get a dog involved.
In Iowa, a man proposed to his girlfriend at the animal shelter together with the dog they wished to adopt.
Conner and Alison got engaged at Animal Rescue League (ARL) of Iowa, and Lizzie the dog was the one carrying the engagement ring.
Lizzie has a miserable background before ARL took her. She has itchy skin, sores oozing with blood and pus, and painful ear infection. She also has hair loss on some parts of her fur. After weeks of treatment and recovery, Lizzie was ready to find her forever home. Her white and tan coat became more visible.
Couple Conner and Alison had been planning about adopting a dog. Conner contacted ARL to find the perfect dog for them. Another reason for calling ARL is to discuss his proposal plans to his girlfriend on adoption day.
The shelter staff recommended Lizzie to Conner. Lizzie is a sweet pup who also loves adventure. After seeing Lizzie’s photo, Conner knew that she is the perfect dog for him and Alison.
On the day of the adoption and proposal, Conner brought Alison to the shelter. Conner told Alison to look for the dog that she likes to adopt. Alison saw Lizzie and felt an instant connection with her. She approached Lizzie and saw the engagement ring tied around her neck.
After a few seconds, Conner knelt in front of Alison and asked the two crucial questions together with Lizzie. Conner asked Lizzie to be his wife and to be a fur mama to Lizzie.
Of course, Alison said yes to both questions!
It was the sweetest moment that everyone witnessed at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
Lizzie has found a forever home and fur parents.
Congratulations, Alison and Conner! We can’t wait to see photos of your wedding!
