Rescuers recognize that they can’t save every single dog. As much as they want to save every single one, it’s just impossible.
These rescuers know the reality of what they do. They still try to go beyond rescuing. They help find rescue dogs good homes. For the dogs that they are unable to bring back to the shelter, they try to visit often.
They would also feed them during these visits. These stray dogs have gone accustomed to the rescuers’ presence. The moment their car arrives, the stray dogs would come flocking to them.
One of the rescuers would go down the vehicle. The canines would immediately gather around her.
The dogs know that this woman was bringing them some food and water. They know that they will not go hungry that day.
The rescuer would bring out big bags of dog food and gallons of water. The dogs excitedly wait for her to lay all those things out for them.
She would walk them into this field so she can arrange the food properly. The dogs happily eat all the food that they are offered.
The rescuers then spend a few hours with the dogs to bond. The rescuer takes time to play with them. The rescuer wants the dogs to feel loved even for a short while.
The rescuers still wish that they can do more, but this is the best they can do with the situation that they have. They still make sure that the stray dogs who are out of the shelter are not forgotten.
It is the rescuers’ way of showing these dogs that there are people who do care and who remembers them. That’s why it’s always a pleasure for the dogs to see these rescuers. They know that these people have the best intentions.
