When villagers learned that a homeless dog got pregnant, they worried for her well-being. She was badly injured and they weren’t sure she’d even make it to full term, let alone her puppies. They did everything they could but no matter what they tried, they failed to catch her.
Soon, the dog gave birth, but people had no idea where she kept her puppies. They simply knew because her belly was no longer that big. They continued to leave food for her, hoping she’d soon trust at least one of them.
But as days quickly went by, the momma dog became more frugal. She ate the food people gave her but she only devoured it once they were gone. And after each meal, she went back into the mountains and disappeared.
Locals worried more about the momma dog. The leash that strangled her must be removed soon. And so, they searched for help, and members of an animal welfare and rescue group in town immediately responded.
The rescuers followed the momma dog but she ran fast and vanished into the woods. To see where she possibly went, they decided to install cameras around the area. And when they checked the footage the following morning, they discovered a 50-meter long pipe and suspected that’s where she hid all the time.
With the use of a camera, the responders checked what was inside the drain pipe and discovered a cute little puppy that looked like its mom. Hurriedly, they laid a plan to get the puppy out. And once they had it safe, they went ahead and rescued the mom.
The momma dog, named Seoltang, later on, was in a worse condition than the villagers expected. She underwent surgery that lasted for hours but in the end, it was a success. With lots of rest and proper medication, she recovered in no time.
One of the kind neighbors came to pick up Seoltang and her puppy Gang-aji the moment they were discharged from the hospital. She wanted them to live good lives so she decided to adopt both of them. She knew it was the right thing to do.
