Music is a part of our lives. And our perception of good and bad music pretty much varies from one person to another. We like different styles and genres. Nonetheless, we all enjoy “good” music.
Dogs are common human companions. It is not a surprise that dogs, too, may have adopted a fondness for music. Perhaps they have also developed a taste in the kind of genres they prefer to enjoy. Turns out, we, humans, are not the only ones who have particular preferences in music.
Canadian professional hockey player Josh Jooris loves to spend time with his Australian shepherd pooch, Charlie. The dog is only 15 months old but already shows strong character.
One day while at home, Josh discovered that Charlie has some preference for music. He took out his phone and recorded his adorable dog enjoying the radio while it plays.
The video was short, but it didn’t fall short in appeal and cuteness. In the video, Charlie was taking it easy inside the house with Josh. And the radio can be heard playing in the background.
While Josh enjoys the music he chose, Charlie could only care less. The dog is so engrossed in playing with his bone. Charlie is obviously in another dimension, enjoying the world’s greatest bone.
Charlie did not at all show any interest when the music stopped. He just doesn’t care, perhaps. But when the first beat of the song “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus) drops, that’s when everything becomes interesting.
The once busy dog is now suddenly howling to the music. His mood has dramatically changed in just a split second. He is now “singing” to the song in perfect harmony and no doubt crushing it!
Since then, Charlie has been feeling the song and singing to it. This only shows how popular this music is not only to humans but also to other species. Josh says that Charlie is now indeed obsessed with the song.
It only shows that people and animals alike can have different preferences. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it brings warmth to people’s hearts.
We hope to see more of Charlie enjoying the songs he likes.
