He go out with other hunters and together they train dogs to hunt raccoons and other small animals. They also train them to track down bears and other predators cause that is a good exercise for the dogs.

This dog has elegance, drive, temperament, is good with the family and kids, good with other dogs and tolerable with other males, all of this at the same time they will protect you.

A Smart Biter

Miguel takes his dogos to Texas when he wants to train his dogs, since in California isn’t legal he has to go Texas and there he train his hound with boars. Once the most experienced of them find the scent Miguel and the other hunters go under the boar.

The Dogo Argentino doesn’t bite and makes a mess it bites strategically to don’t waste energy and don’t tear the hog. The Dogo just catch the hog, it doesn’t kill it just hold it enough for the hunter to get there in  time to kill it.

This dog shouldn’t be breed to be oversize or too big because as a tracker and cátcher the dog needs to be faster when running and don’t tire too fast, so it could be a good size dog but not too much.

One of the most important as a catcher dog are the teeth, the dogo argentino has 42 teeth, in his teeth is where all the power is. So is important for the dog that you take care of his teeth.

You want a good-sized mouth perfect to hunt in a one-to-one where the mouth is the same length as the head, making it ideal to hunt.

Stance and adaptation

If you want a dog to hunt you need to take in consideration that a straight stance, slight angulation and a well defined muscular tone. On these features will depend how much effective will be the performance of the dog while hunting.

As a bay dog, they are know to pick up the scent of the boar and will make a loud bark once he find it. This Dog could be considered as the ultimate dog because it could do pretty much anything you want it to do.

Dogos can be hunters, but it will depend on you and how well do you train your and how  much effort do you put in it.

Depending on the bloodline will determine the capacities of the dogo. They can adapt to any type of situation too, they can be in apartments, in the snow, in the heat of the desert, they adapt to everything.
